"jueves"

Yes, that is spanish for "thursday." Didn't feel like getting clever today. Anyways, yesterday presented some great conversations and fellowship. I spoke to Dave Cowan earlier, and concluded that I will be apart of the baptisms on Sunday. I am so stoked. I was baptised as a child but want to outwardly express my beliefs as I am now more aware of what it is to follow Christ.

After work I went to the Wednesday night link group at the Reichleys. We prayed for our brothers and sisters that are starting up the TU link group. I still find it so amazing how God is working through the people of Horizon. I enjoyed learning about how the church started and the values that keep the church together. Funny tangents on rockets and vocabulary words made the discussion one in it's own. Afterwards, even though I started off a little cranky we enjoyed the suspense film, "Fallen." I found the movie very interesting and can see how evil can consume someone and move on. Evil, uses and takes what it needs and moves to the next host. I just pray daily that I am strong enough to lean on Christ to combat this predator. Sin is inescapable, and evil is right around the corner. Verses like Isaiah 41:10 and chapters in Ethesians come to mind to help keep my chin up. What is really comforting is when Paul speaks in Ephesians. We have ammunition to stand up against demons and spirits like in the movie "Fallen." Azazel is a demon that moves from person to person through touch. I wonder how this demon would fare against a man like the Apostle Paul.

"Last of all I want to remind you that your strength must come from the Lord's mighty power within you. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies-the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. So use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up. But to do this, you will need the strong belt of truth and the breastplate of God's approval. Wear shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the Good News of peace with God. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. And you will need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit- which is the Word of God."
- Ethesians 6:10-17
