The Passion
These past couple days have been awesome! Ever since the trip back from camping i've been yearning for knowledge and a closeness to God.
Yesterday I went to "Caribou coffee" to finish up Max Lucado's, "He Still Moves Stones." I ran into Jeff Mount and Eli from Owings Mills, and briefly chatted. Jeff is trying to start up a Link Group on UMBC's campus. It is always cool to hear God in action.
I then headed to "His Way" in Howard County to pick up a couple more books. Got two books that were recommended by a close friend of mine. Troubled kid, turned youth pastor. Cool testimony with him. So I picked up the recommended books by "Eric Ludy" and "Ray Comfort." As I was leaving I saw Mel Gibson's, "The Passion of The Christ." It was only $19.97, but I hesitated. Maybe I can get it cheaper somewhere else? I didn't want to question myself again and the impulse marketing arrangement was a success.
So as I was putting my stuff away in the house and my roommate, Brett asked "What DVD did you buy?" Knowing he was the furthest thing from a Christian, and even half Jewish I suspected he would lose interest fast. "It's Mel Gibson's, The Passion of The Christ." Quickly I said, "You'd care to watch it?!?" Surprisingly he said yes. It was around nine o'clock, but I wasn't about to turn down this opportunity.
It was great to hear him ask questions and hopefully the movie left an imprint. I am eager to hear more questions and who knows, maybe Gibson's film will help find another.
I pray today is just filled with more passion.
