Climbing a Mountain

Have you ever realized that a part of you, maybe a piece of your past is creeping up on you? I have noticed lately that I have been a little too eager to get a drink.(beer) And don't get me wrong, every now-and-then, there is nothing wrong with a christian drinking a beer or alcohol. I do believe it is wrong if they are drinking to a level that may hinder their judgement or create false intentions. This allows sin to gravitate to you, as you are weak.

I was reading and reflecting in the word last night and felt a calling to back off the consumption alittle. I felt my intentions for drinking lately have been to relax or let loose. I don't want to become dependant on a beer to relax or have fun. I seek that through Christ's love and community.

So today I am giving up that pleasure for God and for his glory. I will not let some old habit distance me from my lord! This mountain will be high and steep but I know with God's help I can do it. Any prayers are most appreciated. I am amazed at this verse. "If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask (whatever) you wish, and it will be given you." -John 15:7

Lord God, you amaze me daily with what purposes you lead me to do. Use me however you wish, for you are my center and I follow you only. I ask of you to take my weaknesses and to challenge me to be the person you created me to be. In all this I pray dearly in your name, Jesus Christ.

Amen
